When someone in your area searches "composite doors near me" or "replacement windows \[city\]" — does your business appear, or does your competitor?

For most window and door businesses, the honest answer is: a competitor. Not because they have a better product. Because they have better **local SEO for window and door companies**.

This is the real case study of a UK-based composite door and window business that went from 10 monthly organic visitors to over 1,400 — and from near-zero Google visibility to first-page rankings on multiple high-intent local search terms.

We've uploaded the full video case study above. Watch it to see the exact before-and-after results in Google Search Console. Written breakdown below.

# Why Local Search Visibility Is Everything for Window and Door Businesses

Customers searching for doors and windows are almost always looking for someone local. They want a supplier they can visit, a fitter they can trust, and a business that understands their area. That means **local SEO for window installers** and **local SEO for door installers** is not a nice-to-have — it is the primary channel through which most new customers find and choose a business like yours.

If your website is not ranking locally, you are invisible to those customers at the exact moment they are ready to buy.

# What We Found When We Audited This Business

A well-established composite door and window company in the UK. Strong product range — composite doors, French doors, patio doors, replacement windows. Solid reputation locally. But when we ran our audit, the local search picture was poor across the board.

The website had almost no **window company near me SEO** optimisation — no location-specific pages, no local schema markup, no Google Business Profile signals feeding into the website, and a backlink profile so thin it could not compete with regional competitors who had been building authority for years.

For **Google Maps SEO for window companies**, the Google Business Profile was incomplete, categories too broad, and almost no reviews feeding trust signals into local pack rankings. Combined with slow page speed, unindexed service pages, and missing meta information, the business was virtually invisible for every **local SEO for replacement windows** search its ideal customers were making daily.

# The Local SEO Strategy We Built

**Location-specific keyword research.** We mapped exactly how customers in each target area searched — "composite doors \[city\]," "window installers near me," "French door fitters \[region\]." These are the high-intent local searches that convert into actual inquiries. This is the foundation of effective **SEO for window contractors** and **SEO for door contractors** who want to rank in specific geographic markets.

**Service and location page optimisation.** Every core service page rebuilt with local intent in mind — optimised titles, meta descriptions, heading structure, and schema markup. **Window and door business SEO** that targets local customers requires each page to clearly signal what service is offered and where.

**Technical SEO fixes.** Page speed, Core Web Vitals, crawlability, and indexing all corrected. No amount of local optimisation works on a site Google is struggling to read.

**Google Business Profile optimisation.** Categories tightened, service descriptions added, location signals strengthened — all feeding into improved **Google Maps SEO for window companies** and local pack visibility.

**Local authority backlinks.** High-quality links from relevant UK home improvement and construction sources — what separates **local SEO for home improvement companies** that rank on page one from those stuck on page five.

# The Results

* **Organic visitors: 10 → 1,400+ per month**
* **Search Console clicks: 0 → 1,080+**
* **Search impressions: 8 → 52,000+**
* **Multiple commercial keywords reached Google's first page — several hitting position one**

The business went from invisible to consistently found by customers actively searching for doors, windows, and installation services in their local area. That is what proper **local SEO for window and door companies** delivers — not just rankings, but qualified local buyers.
