[F4M] Pulled over in Africa

When most people chose their gap year locations the west coast of Africa probably didn’t end up high on the list. Whilst most people travelled around Asia or the beautoful cities of Europe I decided I wanted to see the world, really see it. So that’s what I’ve done! Landing in Senegal and hiring a car i was determined to see as many countries along the coast as I could. I wasn’t stupid however, I knew it could be dangerous, arming myself with pepper spray and a taser should i need them.

The first few days were fantastic, beautiful beaches and bathing in the cultures of people I’d never even heard of before. I was continuing my journey down south, passing though borders and checkpoints until I hit a wide open road, I put my foot down, the roof of my hired convertible down and the wind blowing through my strawberry blonde hair. This is what being free was, no pressures and no worries, nothing about my life at home in my mind… until the siren started. I checked my rear view mirror and there it was. A police car, red and blue lights flashing my way.

My heart sank and I check to make sure my purse was in the front seat beside me. You never know when you might need a bribe. The road was quiet. Almost desolate. Not a single other car in sight as I pulls over and waited with my hands on the steering wheel.

I’d also be into getting a little darker where I’m taken to the local jail if you’d prefer to go a little more long term!\]
