Gears aren’t working BMW 3 series 2012

Hi, I got a bmw around 2012 I think.

BMW 3 SERIES

It’s diesel

But basically without turning the car on I can put it into gear but when I turn on the ignition it’s like the gears are stuck and doesn’t put into gear.

There is also like a noise coming.

I know I’m not giving too much info to work with but is it a clutch problem or what. I did get a new clutch last year
