Fat, Old, Balding, Falling Apart and Human

Don't want to call any fan artists out specifically because I enjoy much of the work posted here and appreciate their efforts. However, I take beef with the tendency to portray the characters as more handsome, more thin, more young, with better hairlines, and generally more conventionally attractive and less flawed than their portrayal in the game.

Much of what makes this world unique is the humanity of its characters. They're on death's door, pock marked, alcoholic, depressives living in a bleak dystopia, but often they are depicted as pop idols, uwu, or pinups.

It's fun to an extent, but this desire to make the characters more beautiful is the dominant art style. I am not asking anyone to stop of course: who am I to demand anything of you? But politely, I ask you to consider that we love these characters in part because of aspects of humanity that can be deemed ugly, and that these are essential characteristics, not flaws to be corrected.
