What’s the obsession with removing footwear even in big shops.

First of all I am a non Tamilian , living in Tamil Nadu for some years now. So if I hurt anyone’s feelings, please forgive me 😭

I know it’s your shop. But not home. And I am entering a shop with my hard to remove footwear. I am not coming from street. I am coming in car, and it’s my costly footwear. I wear it to show people. But when I enter a shop, it’s a sin to wear footwear. And to be frank the shop’s floor may not be that clean. I have seen it in delta, and west region. Enlighten me!
