SNAP Reduction
I’m confused and need someone to explain this to me in simple terms.
My daughter’s SNAP recertification was submitted on May 19, 2026, and it took more than 10 weeks to process. Because of her disability, I am her authorized proxy. I had to ask our Florida Senator’s office for help because nothing was happening, even after I spoke with two DCF supervisors.
I don’t understand why our SNAP benefits were reduced by more than $124 per month.
My child’s father did not pay child support from December 2025 through April 2026. When he started paying again, the amount increased by $43.08 per month, but the Florida Department of Revenue cannot tell me why.
We also had a child support modification hearing in Illinois in mid-July, and he was ordered to pay about $140 more each month. I don’t know if that amount includes payments toward the money he already owes (arrears) or if those are separate. I could ask anything during the zoom hearing. My mic was muted by the court.
Can someone please tell me how Florida calculated our new SNAP benefit? Can I get a copy of the worksheet or calculation used to determine the amount?
The notice I received also says that I am receiving the same type of assistance from another program and that my household size increased.
Neither of those things is true. There have been zero changes to our household or any other assistance we receive
