Large black bug similar to dragonfly?

A large black bug has just flown into our kitchen.

Large enough for me to think it was a monarch butterfly until I got closer. It was loudly buzzing, had large clear wings similar to a dragonfly, but no long tail, it was flying incredibly fast and crashing into walls until it settled on the floor for a few seconds. Then flew out if the window again. It was very dark in colour, completely black, and ive never seen anything like it.

All Google searches are making me say its definately a tarantula hawk wasp. But im in derbyshire uk, so apparently that's not possible?

It didnt stay still long enough for a photo, but it was honestly huge!

Any ideas of what else it could be?
