Butterick 3656 Skirt
I am sewing this skirt:

Ran into a bit of a problem.
I added 1/2" to each panel at the waist - which adds up to a total of 2". When I try the skirt on before the waistband is added it fits wonderfully (maybe just a skootch too big).
The waistband is cut to a specific length and then added on - there is no adjustment. Rather, the instructions have you line up the diamonds and dots and "Ease in" each of the panels. However, were I to do this, it would be too tight.
I am thinking I can just go ahead and recut the waistband a few inches longer and skip any easing. But is the easing necessary? There are already four darts at the waist. As it is, I will probably take in 1/8 or 1/4 of ease when I redo the waistband.
