Quant Placement

I am a 3rd year ug student. Intern not yet sorted. Cg near 7.6. By the time of placements I want to improve my cg, codeforces rating as well and collected all the resources like books and all but I am confused whether it will be worth all the effort because the hiring is very less. But on another hand if i build my resume aiming for quant i feel like maybe other good companies are also achievable. Please drop some advise
