Doctor missed two of the most noticeable warts during electrocautery. Is this common?
I had electrocautery done on my penis about two weeks ago for a mild case of genital warts. The procedure itself was basically painless, and the main treatment area seems to be healing normally.
The frustrating part is that, after comparing my before and after photos, it looks like the doctor clearly missed two of the more noticeable lesions. These were not microscopic spots. They were among the main ones I was concerned about before the procedure.
I called the office, and the doctor said there is no need to come back right now because the cauterized skin needs time to heal. He also said the remaining warts may go away on their own. I have a reassessment scheduled because I want someone to look at them in person.
Has anyone else had obvious warts missed during electrocautery? Did you have to wait until the first treatment area completely healed before getting a touch-up? Did the remaining ones actually disappear on their own, or did they need another treatment?
I am also newly single and dating, so having visible lesions left after going through the procedure is especially frustrating.
