Police showed up at family members house looking for me at 11pm on Thursday, unsure how to proceed

So I am currently out of the county I am based at but basically 3 officers showed up to a family members house at 11pm on Thursday looking for me for a chat, they spoke to one of my family and said it was nothing serious just wanted to chat but obviously I am worried and it's a very weird time to show up for a chat. I am based in England and have no criminal record, no arrests or detainments. I called 101 to speak to the local station who said they can't really give me any information and to go to my local station with ID and they can tell me what it's about but my question is do I have to attend/should I and if I do should I consult a solicitor beforehand and try and get info through them, it's like 40/50 quid in Ubers each way to go so don't really want to pay the expenses unless I'm sure I have to attend, have left my contact number so they can get hold of me but unsure how to proceed. Would appreciate any advice!
