Places to Practice?

The used alto I purchased three months ago is due back from the repair shop in another two weeks (grrrrrr!). Finally, I will be able to resume playing one after a 40+ year absence. I'm a bit curious as to where most people practice. I do have a "woodshed" on my property, so I could go all Charlie Parker and work out my scales or finger positions back there. However, my property isn't that large and I don't want to drive my neighbors insane. I don't have the money to rent a practice space, so that's off the table. I live in an area with lots of hills. I could haul the sax up to the top of a mountain and practice there.

What have most of you found works out well?
