The ONN 4k Pro saves the day on an aging Roku TV!

...I was very disappointed with the performance and picture quality of the Apple TV app on my aging Roku TV, so after some research, I decided that I had two options: Buy a new TV or buy an external streaming device.

So, I chose to purchase an ONN 4K Pro, and so far, I'm loving it!

I connected it to an open HDMI port on my Roku TV, made some settings tweaks, installed the Monet Launcher, and man, this is night and day.

• The ONN remote fully controls volume as well as the power on the Roku TV
• The Roku TV defaults to the ONN's HDMI input on power-up.
• Performance is excellent: YouTube Premium, Apple TV, and Plex are snappy and very performant.
• With the Monet Launcher, I created a clean, sensible, and pleasing ad-free interface.

When the time comes to replace the TV, I'll still consider a Roku TV, but dang, I'm spoiled by this ONN 4K Pro. A Google TV may be in the cards!

NOTE: The quality of the Apple TV video is still not as good as I think it should be. On a recent vacation, we watched Apple TV on a newer Samsung TV, and it was absolutely stunning, and I attribute the degraded quality to the aging Roku TV. That said, watching it through the ONN 4K Pro is much, much better than the native Roku app. Excellent value for $60!
