Grumpy Letterheads

Feedback Please

Your sans-serif words, replaced the mulberry silk
Chipped the fine china and my moka cup too.
I want words to move. Oh yeah, the dog has fleas.

I read the Time’s one hundred review — Blah!
Where’s the poets? Where’s art? Where is my bowl?
You know the one; with the fading, navy, filigree.

To hell with hel/vet/ica. The world's gone to shit.
Fry it up with some lard, let me hear it sizzle
And splatter. I don’t bother with long sleeves.

I like it burnt, my skin, the script,
over smoldering coals. Life’s too long.
Pass the blackletter butter and molasses, please.

Grind the pepper, add an em dash of iodized salt
Don’t you dare mention my intake
and I won’t mention how your shorts
are too short, Or that damn tick tock!

I have better things to do, but I won’t.
My complaints taste brackish, I like it like that.
I want words with flavor! Don’t give me that look!
Let me live a little! — Screw my kidneys!

My words, oh blah
My fading navy filigree
The world's gone to shit
Don’t bother, I burnt the script
Life’s too short, tick tock
Better live a little!

I tried my best to channel my inner grumpy granny with this silly rant about typefaces, I’m only 35 so hopefully the voicing works! The italics in the main poem creates another lil poem not sure if I should include it as its own stanza or leave it out as a lil hidden poem, what do you think?
