how do you tell where and how your perception of the world differs from others?

I know that the way I see the world and that the way I see people is whack AF compared to most people. I take everything at face value and I’m always completely genuine and honest when interacting. Turns out this is a terrible terrible move in terms of social positioning.

I feel like I can see how other people think and how the processing works, but I can’t see my own. My own processing alludes me and often I end up obsessing over other people’s ways of thinking to attempt to understand my own. All I can really see is that it is different and far more effective and functional in terms of life and results.

how do I become more self-centred? i’ve noticed that consistently it is a trait that correlate with autonomy and decision-making power over the direction of one’s life. I’m well aware that it’s most likely not possible to change myself to such a degree however I would like to know more about strategies and tactics to build a life that is self-centred.

people pleasing and all the other junk like that has gotten me, and presumably everyone else that does it, nowhere.
