2016 F-150 PCM Flash Recall

Question (Serious Replies Only)

I'm currently driving a '16 F-150 with 260,000 miles.

I have received a recall notice saying that it is possible for the vehicle to suddenly shift into a lower gear randomly, locking up the rear wheels while driving. They have a software fix- reprogramming the PCM Module- that they are offering to repair the issue at no charge.

For those of you who are mechanics, and especially if you are a Ford mechanic- is there any reason not to have this done?

I didn't have reason to doubt this repair, but those of you who are familiar are sure to know more about it than I do.

Thank you.
