18M looking for a structured roadmap to learn trading

Question

Hello everyone, I'm 18M from India. I have an aptitude for economics and geopolitics and I had started learning about the stock market since the age of 15-16, but I've hit a roadblock.

There is an overwhelming amount of trading content online, and much of it feels unstructured. Many videos assume prior knowledge, making it difficult to build a solid foundation.

I have a decent understanding of the equity market, but my knowledge of options, futures, crypto, and other instruments is still fragmented and haphazard. I'm also unsure about what instrument I should paper trade first in order to build practical experience.

I'd really appreciate guidance on:

  1. A structured learning road map

  2. The best books, courses, or mentors (I'm open to paid resources if they're genuinely worthwhile)

  3. Which markets or instruments I should begin paper trading

  4. Strategies a beginner should focus on first

  5. Common mistakes you wish you'd avoided when you started

Thanks in advance!
