Local Markdown: edit local .md files in Chrome or Edge without uploading them
I’m looking for feedback on Local Markdown, a small browser-based editor for existing Markdown files.
You choose a .md file from your computer and edit it in Visual, Markdown, or Split view. Changes can save directly back to the selected file. It also supports multiple open files, restoring the workspace after a refresh, and pasting screenshots into the document.
There is no sign-up, and your document is not uploaded. The hosted version loads its editor library over the internet. You can also download the standalone local-markdown.html file and open it directly from your own computer.
Try it here: https://local-markdown.github.io/
I’m the developer, and it is currently free. The feedback I need most is whether the browser file permission and autosave behavior feels understandable, and whether you would trust it with your normal Markdown workflow.
