He’s here! Positive VBAC story
Hey everyone! At 38+3 my boy arrived and he’s perfect! I wanted to share my VBAC and labour story with everyone as I was so nervous about it all.
For some background, I had my first 10 years ago via c section because he was breech. I was very adamant about an unmedicated, vaginal delivery for my second and my doctors were all on board, but I was still pretty nervous and scared. I have GD and the baby was estimated in the 92nd and 97th percentile for abdomen and head and it’s an estimated weight of 4,100g, but since my first was also big with no GD and my boy was measuring large since the first trimester they didn’t mind letting me wait.
I went to labour and delivery last night because I noticed significantly reduced movements and this was the first day all week I was having little to no contractions. They kept me overnight for routine monitoring, but at 2:30, my water very suddenly broke and after 10 minutes, started having extremely painful contractions (really 0-100). I laboured and pushed for a total of 5 hours and there he was!
He ended up only being 3,700g (70th percentile) and having a head circumference of 35cm (50th percentile). Overall it was an amazing experience and I’m so glad I got the chance to experience it.
