I (18F) graduated high school last year and started university this year (hooray) but i've been having a little bit of a hard time because my dad is constantly implying me wants me out of the house and i think it's because he's jealous of my bf.

So my parents divorced on my 15th birthday, and my dad moved out while i stayed with my mum and brother. My brother got cancer 3 times (he's better now) and was understandably moody throughout the treatment. Now, my mum has a talent for pissing anybody and everybody off without trying, even the most calm and rational people. So when you mix my moody brother and my mum, it's not great. It was manageable up until the middle of last year when everything just started spiraling. Since i was also completing year 12 last year, i really needed to concentrate and study a lot to meet my ATAR requirement, and my brother and my mum were constantly arguing.

During this time, my dad would take me for dinner twice a week and was great. He was making up for his behaviour from when i was younger and he even apologised. So understandably, when i woke up to my mum and brother screaming at each other and my brother about to throw a glass jar at my mums head, i called him because i needed to get out of that environment. The next day, we packed all my stuff and i moved in with him. He told me i would always be welcome and that he loved me. This happened in mid november. He was super good and fed me every night (something my mum was horrible at) and was super interested in everything i had to talk about. He also told me multiple times that even if i fail at something, he would be proud of me anyway, as he knows i grew up needing to succeed because i was the 'golden child'.

Then in February, i met my current boyfriend. He is absolutely amazing to me and everything i could ever want (i'm so grateful i met him because he's the best thing that ever happened to me). When i first started talking to him my dad was fine, but then the more time i spent with him the more my dad got weird. Like, he stopped talking as much, and starting getting mad at me more He also stopped cooking for me, stopped paying for anything of mine including groceries, and told me not to use his groceries, even the butter. He told me multiple times that he hoped i was saving because he wanted his own space and i 'can't stay forever'. Fast forward to a month and a half ago, my boyfriend came to stay with me for a month before we both went overseas. My dad said it was fine, but then throughout the month he progressively got more and more mad and rarely spoke to me, and if i spoke to him first he was often snappy.

Now, my boyfriend and i went overseas separately (he left first and i left the next day). My dad took me to the bus station to go to the airport and i asked what he thought of my boyfriend. He said and i quote 'He's sheltered and naive. I don't know him enough to like him." but he didn't even try to get to know him for the whole month he was there.

When we got back from overseas, i overheard my dad talking to a customer about how 'i thought it would be a great idea to have her here originally, but i'm starting to rethink that decision. She just creates issues. I can't wait for her to leave'

By creating issues, he meant because he didn't know i would bring my bf back, but as soon as he asked me to, i moved us both to my mums so he wouldn't have to deal with us. He also got mad at me because we were 'talking loudly at 3am' and supposedly keeping him up when he had work the next day, however, we were literally watching a movie on my phone on low volume and weren't talking, so i know for a fact that the most he could hear would be a low hum from the sound of the movie, which has never been an issue before, and i usually watch movies on my tv at a much louder volume.

As soon as my bf left, my dad stopped being so dry with me and hasn't really complained.

It really sucks, because I love my bf and so do literally all my other family members who have met him, extended included. And also, all of my dad's complaints are kind of hurting my feelings. Like, come on? Talking to a customer? About how your daughter just creates issues?? and he knows i heard because the customer asked about how i am when i walked past to go to the toilet which is right next to where he was sitting, so it's almost like it was specifically to hurt me. I went and cried into my boyfriends arms and he had no clue what was happening. Poor guy fr. Hope he doesn't see this...
