How to keep a balance between ambitions/career and dating?

Question❓

Hi, everyone. I’m 25m living in bengaluru. For context, i am pursuing my mba from a tier 2/3 institute. This story dates back to almost a month ago when i talked to a pretty boy on hinge. We met for a dessert date the next day itself. It went well. He is from a tier 1 institute.

Both of us had our share of insecurities and we didn’t run away from it. I won’t say we embraced it but we definitely reassured each other that it didn’t matter much. He is kinda a nerd and very ambition driven. Pretty clear about his choices, priorities, career trajectory. That's one of the hottest things about him. I am a little chill, and focus on holistic development rather than academics solely. I have been pretty serious about academics till my UG but not anymore. I might not be very sure about what i want to do or maybe where will i land but i know what i don't want to do.

His mid terms were going on afaik, it comprises of 50% of the total component so it's quite important. Most of the times he used to mention that either he is studying or working on his resume or working on a competition. And on the very first day we talked about our priorities and he said it's his career. I respect that.

Maybe i am from a tier 2 institute so i don't understand or maybe that's my insecurity speaking. But do you really think a relationship cannot survive when your schedule is this hectic and you are ambition driven? After his mid terms we met and i expressed a bit of disappointment that if you are stressed about your exams, why don't you talk to me? Maybe you'll feel better. Atleast i'll try to help you feel better. I won't like him to suffer in silence. I don't want to fix him but i want to be with him in his tough moments. But he said he needs alone time when he is stressed so he doesn't talk to anyone. Which means that during that entire one week, we barely talked.

After two days he said that he thinks that i deserve someone who gives me more time etc etc. And it ended within four weeks. This was my second relationship and first short-distance one. We stayed close, used to meet frequently, talked a lot, got intimate. And then it ended. I don't think i loved him. But i definitely liked him. I wanted it to work. It was one of the only good things that was happening in my life.

My placements will start soon too. I kind of need life advice on how to manage career and dating? How to communicate better? Has this happened with you ever? How to deal with such stuff?
