Avoiding Pill Esophagitis?
Recently had an endoscopy that revealed pill esophagitis causing serious pain whenever I eat anything. A pill got stuck in my esophagus because I lay down when taking my meds, which eroded an ulcer into my throat. This went on for… gosh, 3 months? Regardless, I’m now on meds for it and it’s partially healed.
However, I don’t want to get this again.
How do I avoid it when I can’t sit up for very long? The recommended ways to avoid it are by taking your meds with water/food (which I do), and sitting up for at least 15-30 minutes after taking the pill (which I can’t do).
Any recommendations? I’m a little lost, beyond just using water/food and hoping that the same problem doesn’t happen again.
