Accessing Exhaust Valve Connector behind Exhaust Heatshield

Hello, I recently purchased a LCI.2 M340i and I was planning to lightly mod it for an OEM+ look (catback exhaust + springs) but my dealership told me that ANY modification = ALL warranty voided. Of course, this is probably incorrect but I didn't want to deal with it as keeping warranty is part of the reasoning behind purchasing a new car.

Anyways, I purchased this valve simulator + protection plug (https://www.lcimotorsports.com/products/bmw-exhaust-valve-actuator-simulator) since this shouldn't void warranty (or any valve controller shouldn't) as I'm not technically adding modifications. It pretty much keeps the valves open 24/7 (same as unplugging the connector or pulling fuse) except it has a simulator that eliminates any ghost codes.

The only problem is I cannot access the OEM connector anymore now that it is behind the heat shield. I cannot grab it and I even tried to fish it out with a hook with no luck. Honestly, I can't even see it anymore through the hole but I know its back there LOL.

This video from 0:20 to 0:28 gives a great visual of what I mean when its behind the heat shield:

The only way I think I can access it is if I remove the exhaust + heat shield completely like in this video at 0:39 :

Is this indeed the only way I can access it now without having to remove the entire exhaust / heatshield like in the video? It is technically safe as it is not dragging and the valve simulator kit has 2 pieces where both pieces protect both ends of the OEM valve connectors.

Thanks!
