Karachi German Consulate Student Visa Timeline

I need some suggestions regarding my student visa and enrollment.

I was admitted to a public university in Germany in late May, and I got my blocked account and health insurance confirmation in the first week of July. I joined the waiting list for a student visa on 7th July. My classes will be starting from 12th October and the late arrival time is 1st November. I have received information for online enrollment with the deadline of 30th August and extension till 30th September. As the karachi embassy is working really slow, I consulted my university for late arrival but it's not possible for the program I have been admitted to and the only option I have is to take deferment for next year's winter intake.

Is it sane to wait till August and complete the online enrollment and pay my semester fees as there ain't any way of getting my visa before 12th October but there are possibilities of getting it by November as many people are saying that the embassy will speed up in August. Or the other option is to waste an entire year and take deferment (that too is uncertain).
