Considering DCT Goldwing

Curious what everyone thinks about this:

I’m a fairly inexperienced rider - have about 1 year of experience on a Rebel 1100DCT which I dropped one time while trying to navigate a steeply sloped driveway at an angle due to other vehicles parked around me.

I have very little (like 30 miles) interstate experience because the Rebel just didn’t feel like it had enough oomph on the interstate. At any speed above 50mph the Rebel seemed to destabilize. I moved across the country for work and elected to sell the bike at that time. That was about 4 years ago.

When I took the MSF course I had a very hard time working the clutch due to an injury to my left hand that’s left permanent damage. This is why I opted for a DCT.

Lately I’ve been feeling the itch again and I’m considering a DCT Goldwing as my next bike. Unfortunately the options for automatic bikes are very limited. Everything out there except the BMW R1300 is smaller than the Rebel and the BMW is basically the same price as the Goldwing so that’s the way I’m leaning.

Im curious what you all think about someone with so little experience taking on such a large and powerful bike.

32, 6’ 250lbs for reference.
