I’m a guitarist who may have to join Chorus in school, what should I expect?

In September I’m starting my first semester at LIU Post as a Music Ed major. I pretty much only play guitar (I just started learning piano), but I am required to either join Chorus, Wind Symphony, or Orchestra as one of my ensembles. The director of the music program suggested I join Chorus, which is probably what I’ll end up doing. I’m not a singer at all and haven’t done chorus since I was in 6th grade. What should I expect going into it? Will I have to be able to sight sing? I have very little experience sight singing from my music theory class in high school, in which we did very basic sight singing. I’m also not entirely sure what my vocal range is (I think I’m either a baritone or bass), are there ways I can figure that out accurately on the internet?
