Marriage Visitor Visa (Germany → UK) – Does our application look strong? Any red flags? (2026)

Hi everyone!
My fiancé and I are getting married in Scotland in October 2026, and I’ll be applying for a UK Marriage Visitor Visa from Germany.
I’ve done a lot of research and would really appreciate honest feedback from people who have gone through the process or know UK visas well.
Our situation
I’m a Ukrainian citizen but have lived in Germany since I was 5 years old.
I have permanent residence in Germany and have lived here for over 25 years. I am a German citizen since then.
I work full-time on a permanent employment contract.
I study and am doing my second degree.
I currently live with my parents (I don’t pay rent, so I don’t have a tenancy agreement).
My fiancé is British and lives and works in Scotland.
We’ve been in a genuine relationship for almost two years and have plenty of evidence (photos, travel together, chats, engagement, etc.).
Our plan
The plan is simply:
I travel to Scotland on the Marriage Visitor Visa.
We get married.
I return to Germany after the wedding.
I’ll continue living and working in Germany while finishing my university degree.
We will not apply for a Spouse Visa immediately. The plan is to move to Scotland after I graduate in 2027, so the Marriage Visitor Visa is genuinely the correct visa for us.
Evidence we’ll include
So far we’re planning to submit:
My passport
Employer letter confirming my permanent job and approved leave
Employment contract
Recent payslips
Recent bank statements
Letter from my parents confirming I live with them and that they financially support me
Evidence of my university studies
Wedding booking confirmation
Registrar correspondence
Invitation/support letter from my fiancé and his recent payslips
Relationship evidence (photos, travel, engagement, etc.)
Letter from the state explaining a hit and run (broken mirror on a car) and my fine, that was payed off three years ago
Questions
Does this sound like a strong Marriage Visitor Visa application?
Since I live with my parents, is a signed letter from them enough, or is a German Meldebescheinigung worth including as well?
Is there any other evidence that helped prove your intention to leave the UK after the wedding?
Are there any documents you included that you think made a real difference?
Looking at everything above, is there anything that could accidentally make it look like we’re trying to use the Marriage Visitor Visa as a substitute for a Family/Spouse Visa?
Any advice or experiences would be hugely appreciated. I’d much rather identify any weak points now than after submitting the application.
Thank you so much! 😊
