A little background: This is my third Uwe. I got about 8/10 plays of Fields of Arle and found it kind of stale and without a lot of variety due to the small amount of buildings, and I felt like I was just doing the same thing every game. Feast For Odin is an incredible game, got about 20 plays of that under my belt. My only thing with that is that there is almost no variability between the games since the random Occupations don't really change the game that much. The fun in that are the different strategies to try, but I only play it a few times a year, if that.

Nusfjord, which I just started last week, fixes all those caveats. The different sets of cards and variability in buildings make every game feel different and demand different approaches. It takes about two minutes to setup and I can get a game finished in about 25 minutes. It's short, but super satisfying. I've already gotten about 15 plays, sometimes doing 2 a day, reminding me of when I first got Fliptown. I'll probably do another one later tonight after my toddler goes down.

BUT...it seems very easy. The rulebook says a score between 30 and 40 is good, but I was hitting the mid-30s right away. Now I average in the low 40's. My game this morning I got **50** points. I've attached a picture of my last game, which I may have just gotten ridiculously lucky with the matching synergies. Getting 2 free sloops from Boat Hall early on boosted my fish collection quickly, and then building one more sloop got me 7 VP from the Dock at the end. Using Wood Shipping Co for wood rather than destroying another forest was key too, and I collected a TON of resources following the combo of Custom Area and Repair Hall. Using Cooling House to give me 16 fish in my reserve then allowed Codfish Farm to come alive in the final round. So a lot of things came together throughout the game, and I just crushed it. I know there's the advanced mode and campaign, but the fact remains that I seem to be scoring very highly pretty early on in my journey with this game (unlike the other two Uwe games...I didn't get a "good" score with Odin until about 10 plays in).

Do other people find this to be true, or have similar scores? Is it really more about "beating your high score?" Or maybe I'm doing some rules wrong and making it easier than it should be? Or I'm just amazing at this game? Thanks for any insight!

Nusfjord is AMAZING...but too easy?
