can my cat keep eating adult wet food?

Hi so i'm a new pet owner and i just realised the wet food i've been feeding my cat (6 months old) is actually for adults (sheba pate),I'm planning on changing it but I don't know will he try it cause i've tried many different cat food (Royal Canin, Local Brands, etc) but Sheba is the only kind he'll finish. My concern is that it's adult food and I know that it might affect him, although nothing is wrong with him right now. i might try wellness core kitten wet food as it has a similar texture and feel free for any reccomendations, thx
