Going into Engineering Systems and Computing for First Year

Hello, I am going into ESC at the University of Guelph (Canada). I am not sure about how good systems engineering is because I always hear about how it is a jack of all trades type of discipline. There are things I can specialize in though which makes me think otherwise. Here are the electives.

I am thinking about switching into electrical engineering though since I am not sure how job security is in the systems engineering field.
