Making my resume more appealing: entry level things to do in order to make my resume stand out.
Basically title. Got Sec + about a month ago and have gotten some interviews, but they led to no where. I have experience in retail, fast food, a weird helpdesk role, and as a transaction coordinator for real estate wholesalers, but I think the weakness with my resume is “I have Sec + and know what a firewall is” and that just isn’t good enough I think.
My first idea was go and get a cert in Linux or Azure or some other cloud platform, but I’m also really eager to get into the work already.
Next idea is to build a mini SOC lab and upload it on GitHub. Just a lightweight open source thing that shows I understand what the tools do, how to read data, more that I have applicable, practical knowledge and skills.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
