I’m looking for a book of western American folklore!

I’m moving to Colorado in a month and I grew up with a fascination with the west(main reason I’m headed west) I love learning about the natives peoples/westward expansion/cowboys/mountain men. I recently read James Micheners Centennial and one thing that always kept me up at night was the amazing stories they must have told around the campfires on long cattle drives, fur trapping expeditions, native camps… stories of long winters and the hero lore of the outlaw. I’m interested if there’s any collections of these kinds of stories or somewhere I could pick up some a read as I head out west. Any folklore just I want to know the same stories!!

Thank you for anyone that can help me out!
