Help with external hard drive

Hi everyone!

I need an external hard drive and since this is my first time buying one I need some advice.

I am interested in a "standard" 1/2 TB disk and looking online I've found ssd and hdd disks in a price range from 30 to 500 euros.

Now, I don't want to buy garbage that will last one month but I also don't want to spend 500 euros for some "low-value" data I want to backup.

I've found some options that seems "reasonable" to me:

• TOSHIBA Canvio Basics HDTB520EK3AA - 2TB
• Samsung MU-PC1T0T/WW T7 - 1TB
• Seagate STGX1000400 - 1TB
• SanDisk 1TB Extreme SSD - 1TB

What are your opinions on these hard drives and do you have any others to recommend in the price range (90/150 euros)?

Also (this may seem like a stupid question), the disks I found work fine with both Windows and Linux, right?
