Oil drain plug stuck

Somebody over tightened the oil drain plug on my 2014 forester 2.5. it’s me, I did it. but anyways the cars at nearly 300k miles. burns a quart every 1500 miles. I love this car obviously but I’m exhausted with fighting this thing and only plan to keep it another six months or so. I’m not asking what’s correct I’m asking: if you were in my shoes would you you just keep topping oil off and changing the filter? I use restore and protect.
