Controller not working in Yakuza 3 on GOG

For 2 hours I've been trying to get my pxn controller to work with the game but nothing is doing it. I already tried the steam input and disabling the steam input, it didn't work.. Something that kind of worked was connecting my controller with cable, which worked as an input but it was just tweaking out, like keep putting me back on the yakuza 3 screen (guessing it was spamming the cancel button). Idk if that's on my controller but it's working fine in other games, so I doubt it??

Appreciate any kind of advice T-T
