Will you stay friends with your ex? And why?

My bf of 4 months broke up with me because of a misunderstanding we couldn't resolve. He said he doesn't want any drama anymore and that I should delete his number. I made peace with it and never contacted him after the break up despite missing him so much.

Recently, he texted me basically saying he shouldn't have said anything and he apologized for the way he reacted before. We had an argument because I still stand on my point and he ended up telling me he dodged a bullet.

Then this weekend, he texted me again after seeing me on a dating app. He started apologizing again and said he's reaching out not to win me over but he went ahead and told me he still have feelings for me and that he actually did not dodge a bullet.

I asked if he doesn't want to do anything with me anymore, to which he said that's not how he wants to phrase it. He said he will just let me down romantically but wants to stay friends if that's okay.

I admit I still have feelings for him. A part of me wants to walk away but my feelings are stopping me. What should I do?
