This one caught my attention. A lot of junior miners put out news that says, "We found something interesting." NRED's latest release is different. It connects today's news to everything they've been building over the past few months.

The company identified two historical iron carbonate-silica alteration zones covering about 613 acres combined on the Plume Grid. The interesting part is where they sit: directly above the large magnetic anomaly the company interpreted last week as a possible buried intrusive complex. Management now plans to test that idea with an IP/AMT survey capable of imaging to roughly 3,300 feet below surface before deciding where to drill.

Why this looks like real progress. First came the expansion to nearly 39.7k acres. Then the regional geological interpretation. Now another surface clue that fits into the same exploration model. Instead of jumping straight to drilling, they're stacking evidence, narrowing targets and trying to spend exploration dollars where they have the highest probability of learning something useful.

The best part?

Management isn't pretending they've already found a deposit. The release openly says there are multiple possible explanations for what they're seeing, including a porphyry system, an epithermal system or something else entirely. That's exactly why they're running more geophysics first. I actually trust that approach more than a headline screaming "major discovery" after every field season.

Either way, today's news tells me the geological model is getting more detailed with every press release, and that's exactly what I want to see
