Hey OnsiteFueling community ,

Hey supply chain pros,

When you're contracting out bulk fuel delivery for manufacturing plants, distribution hubs, or massive corporate fleets, it’s incredibly tempting to just sign with whoever quotes the lowest spot price per gallon today. But as anyone who has dealt with a late delivery knows, a dry tank costs infinitely more than a two-cent premium.

If you are currently evaluating your vendor contracts or looking to optimize your fuel supply chain, price is only step one. Here are the actual operational markers that matter:

1. **Delivery Delivery Options:** Can they scale from bobtails for tight spaces up to full transport loads?
2. **Automated Tank Monitoring:** Do they use electronic wireless telemetry so they know you need a refill before your floor manager does?
3. **Multi-State Footprint:** If your operations cross state lines, can they maintain the same SLA?

Working with established infrastructure players like **Ricochet Fuel** has shown me that true reliability comes down to their logistics network and dedicated account management, not just a cheap rate.

What metrics or specific SLAs do you include in your fuel vendor contracts to protect your operations from supply shocks or missed windows ? Let’s share some insights . 📈
