If the ninja had died in Season 8, how would their families cope?

What if the Season 8 finale ended differently?

What if Wu, Zane, Cole, Jay, and Kai really died when Destiny’s Bounty was destroyed by the Colossus?

Would Emperor Garmadon feel nothing at first because of what he had become? Or would the reality of what he did eventually catch up to him?

But I’m more interested in the emotional impact on their families.

How would Ed and Edna deal with losing Jay? He wasn’t their biological son, but they raised him, loved him, and saw him as their own child.

How would Lou cope with losing Cole, his only son and the only family he had left?

How would Ray and Maya feel after finally being reunited with Kai and Nya after so many years apart, only to lose Kai not long afterward?

They missed so much of their children’s lives already. Losing Kai after finally getting their family back would be devastating.

How would these parents grieve? How would losing their sons change them?

I know characters like Lloyd, Nya, Pixal, and Dareth would also be affected, but we already saw some of their reactions when they believed the ninja were gone. I’m mainly curious about the family members we never got to see deal with a permanent loss.
