Deciding Between OP-1 Field vs OP-XY

Looking to purchase either the op-1 field or the op-xy during the summer sale. I am a beginner, but looking to learn about music production and have a creative outlet. I am aware of the major differentiators between the two, with the op-1 field being tape based workflow with the more pronounced keyboard interface. And the op-xy being a step sequencer, for more of a rigid song creation inherent to step sequencers. I am looking for someone to explain what type of music and music production process works best on each to help me make my decision. Thanks!
