Getting better

Right now I’m high purple trying to get into blue but I found playing heihachi isn’t as fun as Bryan or Jin or kaz for me at least. Should I stick with heihachi or should I keep playing the other characters to learn the matchups. I’ve heard mixed reviews on changing characters and staying on one you know. What should I do if I wanna climb.
