Bottle washing

I’m feeling guilty because my son drinks formula and we wash his bottles in the momcozy bottle washer and sanitizer but we don’t always take the nipples off to wash. we always rinse with hot water and then throw them in there to wash but I wasn’t aware you had to completely take off the nipple from the base and I’m just feeling like trash. I’ll obviously do it every time now but i don’t know what I was thinking. I would do it about once a week but I’m just kicking myself for not doing it every time.
