Registering vehicle that has been seized and removed VIN. (SURETY BOND)
Location: New Mexico
Had my car seized during inspection for 2 vin numbers on vehicle during "level 2 inspection" by state police in Clovis, New Mexico. (February 13th) Also because the vehicle apparently had a lien on it as well.
After a couple months, they called me out of the blue to pick the car up. State police officer/Inspector told me how to register the car. He said I need to get a surety bond, after that I will be able to get a title for the car and then take the car to get inspected and the DMV will give me an assigned number, vin? That will be riveted.
Questions:
How do I go about getting that bond? (Online - In person?)
The ECU has a vin and it is the original vin to the car since Its and SRT8 computer. Compared to the previous vin under the windshield that was to a base model v6 car. (It has been removed)
Can I have them use that vin? I'm not sure how to go about this.
