Ranks compared to year ago

I wonder what my fellow ogs think of todays ranks and the respective gameplay level vs 5+years ago.

I peaked 1700 back in 2021 EU 2s, I was never good with mechanics but play solid roc. I've played on and off since then but never really had any meaningful sessions until recently where I've played 200+ games in the last few weeks. I'm in GC1 now and feel like I'm playing to the level I was back in 2021 but I can't see myself pushing further unless I actively play to improve. This makes me think, would a 1700 player back in 2021 would be roughly equivalent to a 1400 player today? Have I aged poorly because I was never great mechanically?
