Gov Contractor Opportunities - Intel Team Lead
I am trying to figure out what kind of roles my husband could find based on his current experience as a government contractor.
He has been working for his current company for 5-6 years now, and he has been in the intel field for about 9 years (so approaching senior level). Well a few months ago he was offered a promotion to team lead, which obviously came with a change in duties and a bump in his salary. He really likes it. The problem is, being in this field he is, of course, tethered to a miltiary base. We want to move closer to family and I need to find a new job opportunity in my field. I got my degree and a certification and I make very little. He wants me to find a role where I can use my education, but we live in a very small town. Besides the base, there aren't many corporate job opportunities here.
Where we want to move to has tons of opportunities in my field and we will be closer to family. I want him to be able to stay at his current company because he likes it and the pay/benefits are good. But for us to move, he would need to find a new job or commute 2 hours one way (and even with that, I would be commuting 1 hour to my own prosective job).
What kind of roles could he qualify for based on his experience? Either in the contracting world or the public sector? Realistically speaking. He said he would like to go for a remote Program Manager job at his company if they are eventually hiring for one. For something similar to that outside of his company, is less than a year of leadership experience enough to qualify for that?
