Aftermarket EBike Kit; to fuse or not to fuse the battery?

Bike build question

Bafang BBSHD. I built my ebike 7 years ago and fitted it with a Joyisi 48V, 10Ah battery I found on Amazon for about $300. The battery came with a cradle with bare wires and a pair of Anderson plugs also on bare wires, with the seller expecting you to solder them yourself. While I was doing that I threw in an automotive fuse holder on the positive wire and put in a 40A fuse, just in case.

Seven years later and the battery's toast. When fully charged the bike's meter used to read 80% charge, but now it tops out at 70%, and the BMS is cutting power to the rest of the bike at around 35%. So I'm upgrading with an EM3ev 52V, 17Ah pack for more range and less fear of spontaneous battery combustion in my apartment. From the looks of the pictures on EM3ev's website, the cradle is ready to go. Just bolt it on and plug it in, no soldering necessary. So, should I even bother with cutting the fuse holder off my old cradle and splicing it into the new one?
