URGENT: ottonova cancellation before M10/exemption – visa deadline approaching

Hi Expatrio team,

I applied for the Value package with Ottonova Study Secure Premium on July 29, and my application was approved the same evening. I completed the application without realizing that ottonova was a private health insurance. After noticing this, I contacted Expatrio on July 31 because I would prefer to use public student health insurance through TK or BARMER.

I specifically asked Expatrio Support via mail whether a legally binding exemption from statutory health insurance had already been issued, but I have not yet received a clear confirmation.

The University of Passau has now confirmed in writing that they have received neither an M10 notification nor an exemption confirmation.

This is urgent because I need to submit my German student visa application as soon as possible and must begin my studies shortly after. Any further delay with the insurance process could seriously affect my visa timeline.

Could an Expatrio representative please urgently check my ticket and confirm:

1. That a legally binding exemption has not already been issued.
2. That I am still free to arrange statutory student health insurance independently with TK or BARMER.

If both points are confirmed, I would like my ottonova application to be cancelled immediately and any pending exemption or M10 process to be stopped.
