Update: I'm Back, Jury Duty sucked.
Hello! I just want to say, thank you all for the kind words through Comments, DM's and Anonymous Feedback! I have been very surprised and flattered by the things you all have been saying and it has been a great motivator to keep making audios and find ways to better myself and content. Since the last audio I posted, I went from 26 followers, to 114. Growth is slow, but it's faster than I was expecting. Seeing a new follow, like, comment, ect. always warms my heart and I appreciate your kindness.
Secondly, I just put out a new M4F audio for the first time in a month. This was a little spur of the moment, something I can make quickly so I can get back into the rhythm of things. Originally this was supposed to be a M4M audio that I have been writing for the past two months. But as I am about to explain, things did not go to plan. (I'm sorry for all the boy's who follow me, next one is going to be for you! I promise!)
The past month was supposed to be me trying to balance home life and making audios so that I wouldn't burn myself out. I wanted to try and least come out with a new audio every week or two and try to be consistent. Things did not go that way, which is not unexpected, but it did leave me to throw away those plans and take the first week of July off. Not a big deal.
But then I was selected for Jury Duty. Not fun, but that should've set me back for another week. I was told it was only supposed to last 4-5 days at the most, with selection, the trial and deliberation. Oh, how I wished that was the case... It then led to TWO WHOLE WEEKS of the most mentally and emotionally exhausting event that I had to undergo in two years. I don't want to curse anyone with the information, but IT. WAS. BAD!
Now that things have settled, and I took another week long break, I can go back into making audios again. (Hopefully.) But with that said, I am going to be in a little financial trouble in the coming weeks. Nothing major, I won't be completely broke or destitute in the near future. (Hopefully.) However, I will be in a place I do not want to be in.
Which leads me into thinking about opening commissions and making audios for money. This is not something I want to do, at least not now. (If ever.) I am not against doing this for money, but I'm still freshly new to things, and focusing on practicing and getting better. I do not think I am in a place where I can comfortably monetize my content unless I know there are people who are willing to pay for it. Which is the whole point of a tip jar.
The alternative is creating a patreon and putting out exclusive/early content. But I do not think my content is quality enough to be put behind a paywall, nor do I have the time to make content exclusively for patreon on a regular basis. I also do not want to beg for donations, the tip jar is there solely if people want to throw money my way for liking my audios. I do not want anyone to feel forced into giving me money for nothing. Do not let my sob story pressure you into throwing away cash.
So commissions is a compromise. I don't know if it is something I will go along with, it is a thought. I haven't even looked into setting one up yet, I'm just thinking about it. If you think my content is good enough to pay for, then let me know. For now I am just putting it into consideration.
Once again, I appreciate you all!
