He said he prefers texting because he can be more chill, but his texts are dry and brief. How should I take this?
I’ve been talking to this guy recently, and I asked him how he prefers to communicate. background: we both are talking to each other to seriously consider marriage cause we were introduced by family.
He told me that texting is easiest for him because it’s easy, can be more candid, chill, lets him be funny, and allows him to reply throughout the day. I’m a big texter who likes detail, so I was totally on board and agreed.
The problem? His actual texting style doesn't exactly match what he said.
When we do text, it usually lasts for maybe 10-20 minutes once in like 2 days, his responses are pretty dry, and then the conversation just ends. He will engage in conversation but it’s just not as often as i would think. especially cause we can’t meet in person anytime soon and we call once in a few days. We recently added each other on Instagram, so now our interaction is sending about one meme back and forth a day.
I’m confused by the contradiction between what he said ("I like texting / I'm funny on text") and what he actually does (short, low-effort replies) and the frequency between texts is pretty low.
How do i interpret this? Do i just let time take its course and maybe tell him how i feel about this? like im not sure. please help. guys: any insight on how your boy brain works?
