2020 Model S LR plus vs. 2022 Model 3 LR

Hey everyone,
I currently drive a 2015 Model S and absolutely love how heavy, planted, and solid it feels while driving. But it’s time to upgrade to something from this decade!

I’m looking at two options, both around the 30k-mile mark:
Option 1: 2020 Model S Long Range (Raven)
Option 2: 2022 Model 3 Long Range

Here is my dilemma:
The Model S:
I already know I love the luxury ride and driving dynamics. My 2015 hasn't had air suspension issues, but I keep hearing horror stories about expensive air ride repairs on out-of-warranty Model S cars.

The Model 3:
I’ve never driven a Model 3. The 2022 LR makes financial sense (simpler suspension, hyper-efficient, AMD Ryzen screen, heat pump). Some owners mention the Model S offers a more luxurious feel, while the Model 3 is smaller and sportier.

For anyone who has owned both or made a similar switch:

  1. How does the Model 3 feel through fast turns and on the highway compared to a Model S? Is the ride quality a noticeable downgrade?
  2. Is the 2020 Raven adaptive air suspension more reliable than older setups, or is a major repair still inevitable?
  3. Overall, does moving to a 2022 Model 3 feel like an upgrade or a compromise?

I’m planning to use the car for 2 years atleast before chaging and max 3 years.

Would love to hear your real-world experiences. Thanks!
